Ranger's Craft

Privacy policy

Last updated November 2, 2026. Written for parents, in plain words.

The short version. Children's accounts are only made by a parent. We keep what the game needs to work (names, passwords, saved games, play time) and nothing else. There are no ads, no chat, no tracking, and we never sell or share your family's information. You can download or delete all of it at any time on the parent website.

Who we are

Ranger's Craft is a small family-made game, designed and built by Carter Jonsson with a parent. Questions or requests: email the address on the parent website.

What we collect

We do not ask children for their email, real name, age, location, photo or anything else. Please use a nickname for each Ranger's name.

What other players can see

On the shared public server, other players see each Ranger's name above their character and what they build. There is no chat, so nobody can send your child messages. On a private server only your family's Rangers can join. If someone is unkind, Rangers can press P to report them, and a grown-up who runs the game can pause that account on the public server.

How we use it

Only to run the game: signing in, keeping progress, applying the rules you set, running private servers, and keeping players safe. No advertising, no profiling, no selling, no sharing, except with the services that run the game for us: Render (hosting, in the United States), Stripe (payments) and an email service (password-reset emails only).

Cookies and tracking

None. Sign-ins are kept only in the open browser tab and end when you close it. There are no analytics or advertising trackers.

Your choices, as a parent

Children under 13

Children can't sign up on their own: a parent creates every Ranger account from the parent website, which is how we ask for a parent's permission. If you think a child's information is here without a parent's permission, contact us and we'll delete it.

Keeping it safe

The site uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, repeated wrong passwords are blocked for 10 minutes, and backup copies are kept so a mistake can be undone. Backups are deleted after at most 8 weeks.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell parents on the parent website.
